DESCRIPTION

Osaka Aquarium

2300¥ 10:00 - 20:00

Osaka Aquarium, known in Japanese simply as Kaiyukan, is one of the world's largest and most impressive aquariums and it's located on the Tempozan Harbor Village in Osaka Bay. Its exhibition recreates the natural environment found in the Pacific Rim through 10 different areas, ranging from the Japan Forest to the Great Barrier Reef.

The aquarium features 15 water tanks centered on a huge main tank, the world's largest by volume, with 5900 tons of water and a height of 9 meters. The tank can be explored progressively from top to bottom through the aquarium's 8 floors, contemplating the different species living in the Pacific Ocean. Among the 30.000 sea creatures which can be found, the two Whale Sharks are considered to be the main attraction.

Tempozan Ferris Wheel

700¥

The Tempozan Ferris Wheel is located next to the Kaiyukan Aquarium and offers spectacular panoramic views of Osaka's bay area and skyscraper district. Boasting a height of 112.5 meters, it was the tallest Ferris Wheel in the world at its time of construction in 1997, but was surpassed by London's Eye two years later. A ride in the Wheel takes around 15 minutes.
